The Berlin Marathon is more than a race of records and elite champions. It is a test of pain, grit and determination for thousands of ordinary runners who pour their hearts into every kilometre. The photographs that follow focus on these non-elite athletes – people of all ages and backgrounds pushing through fatigue, doubt and aching muscles to reach the finish line. Their faces show effort and exhaustion, but also courage, joy and a deep sense of purpose. Together they tell the real story of the Berlin Marathon: a celebration of human endurance, community spirit and the belief that, step by step, we can go further than we ever imagined.
